Airtel Money Rudishiwa Offer Expands: Get 50% Cashback on Bank Transfer Fees

Airtel Money Kenya has further extended the Rudishiwa offer to cover bank-to-wallet transfers: customers now get 50% of their transaction fee as airtime. With this airtime, they can buy data bundles that do not expire, a good thing in today’s tough economy.

This offer provides another enhancement to the successful earlier Airtel Rudishiwa campaigns. These programs started in 2023 with reimbursing agent withdrawal fees and were expanded further in 2024 to cover Paybill transactions. Following this latest upgrade, Airtel Money Rudishiwa offer users will get rewarded for transactions when topping up their mobile money wallets directly from bank accounts.

Airtel Money Kenya indicated that the promotion covers transfers via mobile banking apps, USSD codes, and internet banking channels from all major banks. There is no need to opt in; you simply transfer funds from your bank to your Airtel Money wallet and get half the fee back as airtime.

This customer-focused initiative is but one of the many avenues through which the mobile money outfit seeks to deliver value. Just weeks ago, an extensive platform upgrade brought enhancements to make Airtel Money faster, more reliable, and user-friendly.

“Digital payments are essential in today’s economy,” said Anne Kinuthia-Otieno, Managing Director at Airtel Money. “The Airtel Money Rudishiwa offer reflects our promise to make mobile transactions more affordable while keeping Kenyans connected.”

The airtime rebate can be used for data, voice calls, or SMS, and is particularly helpful in helping users stretch their budgets. Customers subscribed to Airtel’s Smarta Bundles get even more value, with 100% cashback on mobile money transaction fees—whether for withdrawals, Paybill payments, or bank-to-wallet top-ups.

Airtel Kenya’s agent network has expanded to over 110,000 outlets nationwide, including partnerships with banks and major retailers like Naivas. With this reach, customers can perform a wide range of services—from cash withdrawals to bill payments—while enjoying transaction fee rebates.

Managing Director Ashish Malhotra reinforced Airtel’s customer-first philosophy. “The Airtel Money Rudishiwa offer shows how we’re responding to real user needs. We’re simplifying mobile money, reducing costs, and ensuring customers get value every time they transact.”

In addition to airtime cashback, Airtel Money continues to offer competitive services such as free Airtel-to-Airtel transfers, low-cost cross-network payments, and affordable financial products like loans, savings, and insurance. Each of these comes with discounted transaction charges or added perks.

With this updated Airtel Money Rudishiwa offer, Kenyans using mobile banking as their preferred top-up method now have an incentive to save more. Whether you’re paying bills, sending funds, or loading your wallet from your bank, Airtel ensures that value follows every shilling you spend.
